I am far from being one of the most stylish and on trend blogger in Montreal. I do know what I like to wear when the seasons arrive, which is greatly inspired by what my favourite style icons are wearing. I have been asked quite a few questions about my personal style over the years and thought of finally answering them in this little blog post. As you all know, style is a very personal and wonderful way to express oneself. What I love and what fits me best might not be to everyone’s taste which is the beauty of style and fashion.
Once again, these answers reflect my personal style, taste and personality. By no means are they the right answers to all fashion questions and rules!
How did you find your personal style and how would you describe it to be?
I developed my personal style over the years, especially after making many mistakes which I now laugh about. I am still not totally satisfied or happy with my style at this very day but it is a work in progress as I always change over the years! This is also the beauty of fashion is it not? As for describing my style, I have always loved classic, timeless and feminine pieces. Flowy blouses, crop tops and high-waisted paperbag shorts are currently my favourite items at the moment. As you can see from my outfit pictures, I always wear solid and neutral colours – excepted during the summertime where I allow myself to wear flower prints and polka dots here and there!
Where do you buy most of your clothes?
I find most of my pieces at Forever 21, Zara and Aritzia. All of these stores offer such a great variety of styles, fabrics, colours and much more that will suit everyone’s taste and budget. I also try to invest more into Montreal or even Quebec pieces to support local designers and talents!
Who are your favouirte fashion bloggers/youtubers at the moment?
I am currently in love with The Fashion Fraction, In the Frow, Negin Mirsalehi and Tess Christine. They all have such gorgeous styles! Whether you are looking for feminine and dainty outfits or for bold and structured ensembles, you will find every inspiration you need with these beauties. They have been huge style icons for me for years!
Are you an avid trend follower?
It definitely depends on the seasons and on the trends. There are a few trends that suit my style and shape quite well, and others not so much. Once again, this is the beauty of the fashion world as you can really pick and choose which trend you want to follow. To follow and to personalize. There are multiple trends I absolutely love but need to slightly change them to better fit my style, taste and personality.
Do you have a personal stylist?
This has to be one of the sweetest question and best compliment I have ever received! I do not have a personal stylist, though I wish I had. I simply style pieces I think would look good together and accessorize the outfit afterwards with dainty jewelry. As I mentioned earlier, I follow a lot of bloggers which helps a lot with finding fashion inspiration and ideas!
Who takes your outfit pictures?
My friends and my sister take all my Instagram outfit pictures! It really depend on who I am with when the picture is taken. I have 2-3 friends that I always go to, and of course my sister, as they know exactly how I like my pictures to be taken. As for my fashion blog posts, I have a personal photographer, Audrey-Ann Godin who is more than amazing!
