Hey guys! You might have seen on my Instagram, Insta Story or my Snapchat that I recently did a teeth whitening treatment. I decided to vlog my experience and hopefully help you get more information about it. I was invited 2 weeks ago at the Centre Dentaire Les Cours to get a consultation on their Zoom Teeth Whitening services. Being a huge coffee and hot chocolate drinker, I decided to go forth with their treatment and am so glad I did.
Centre Dentaire Les Cours is located in the very heart of downtown Montreal. I met up with Maria, my dental hygienist, to have a consultation. She explained to me the entire process and the steps required before and after the treatment itself.
Pre-Appointment Steps
– 7 to 10 days before the treatment, brush the teeth with a desensitizing toothpaste such as Fluoridex or Colgate Pro-Relief
– 1 hour before the treatment, take 600mg of Ibruprofen (Advil) to reduce teeth sensitivity
*It is preferable not to have important activities the same day.
ZOOM Teeth Whitening Treatment
The first step is the teeth cleaning and polishing. This is necessary to remove stains before the treatment. Maria then inserted teeth spacers and gums protection to isolate the teeth. The patented ZOOM whitening gel is formulated with hydrogen peroxide and is applied to the teeth 4 times for 15 minutes. The light activates the whitening gel and the results are thus optimal.
The treatment went by incredibly fast. I did not feel any sensitivity at all. I even started working on my phone and taking pictures of myself to kill some time. In contrary with other self-whitening treatment, you can actually swallow your saliva which makes everything much more comfortable and cleaner.
Post-Appointment Steps
After the treatment, Maria gave me my mouth piece with Relief Gel ACP which I wore for about 30 minutes to reduce teeth sensitivity. 24 hours after the treatment, I had to wear the mouth piece with the whitening gel 30 minutes a day, for 7 days. It is recommended to brush and floss your teeth before proceeding with the home gel treatment. Also, it is incredibly important not to smoke or to drink/eat any food/beverage that will stain your teeth!
As mention in the vlog, I only started to feel teeth sensitivity a few hours after the treatment. This sensitivity can take up to 3 days before fading away which in my case stopped after a day. I am incredibly happy with the results. My family and friends saw noticeable results and as cheezy as it sounds, I am not afraid or shy anymore to smile 😉
