Avignon. Une petite ville du Sud si charmante qu’il vous faut absolument visiter si vous êtes en région. Au printemps et en été 2019, j’ai pu visiter cette magnifique ville 2 fois; la première pour un événement mode local, et la deuxième avec mon amie Kayla de Montréal durant son séjour à Montpellier.
Amoureuse d’histoire, j’ai été impressionnée de découvrir le patrimoine d’Avignon qui fait partie de l’UNESCO. Le Palais des Papes, la Basilique Notre Dame des Doms, les remparts et bien sûr le fameux Pont Saint Benezet que l’on connait sous le nom du Point d’Avignon. Tout était grandiose.
Résumé des deux visites: petite pause lunch au restaurant La Cantine du Nid, balade au centre-ville historique pour découvrir les boutiques locales, les librairies, les Halles, des cafés proposants des options végétaliennes (une belle surprise!) et les jardins publics.
Ce fut de si belles visites et j’espère avoir la chance de pouvoir revisiter Avignon cette fois-ci avec mon copain lorsque les boutiques et les restaurants pourront ouvrir de nouveaux. En espérant que ce soit ce printemps ou cet été!
Avignon. A small southern town incredibly charming that you absolutely must visit if you are in the region. In spring and summer 2019, I was able to visit this beautiful city twice; the first time for a local fashion event, and the second with my friend Kayla from Montreal during her stay in Montpellier.
Huge history enthusiast, I was impressed to discover the heritage of Avignon, which is part of UNESCO. The Palais des Papes, the Basilica of Notre Dame des Doms, the ramparts and of course the famous Pont Saint Benezet which we all know as the Point d’Avignon. Everything was magnificent.
Summary of the two visits: a short lunch break at the restaurant La Cantine du Nid, a stroll through the historic city center to discover the local shops, bookstores, the market Halls, coffee shops offering vegan options (a nice surprise!) and the public gardens.
I had such a wonderful time exploring and I hope to have the chance to revisit Avignon with my boyfriend when the shops and restaurants will be able to reopen. Hoping for it to be this spring or summer!
