MAC Essentials

Sara Hudson

MAC cosmetics is definitively one of the most well-known makeup brands. The colours, pigmentation and coverage of its longwearing products make MAC one of my all-time favourite makeup line. After watching so many makeup looks made out of these products, I decided to map out the MAC essentials. These are a few products a lot of people recommend and that I am in love with. You can always add more shadows and blush colours if you want to start up or continue your collection! I decided to put them in order of how I would normally apply my makeup. Hope you enjoy 😉

1. Paintpots: 24$. A light and highly longwear pigmented eye colour of a creamy texture. Perfect to create seamless coverage without caking. It blends smoothly over the lids. Ideal to use as a individual lid colour or also as a base for any other eyeshadow. This base will help the eyeshadows have a brighter pigmentation and last longer on the lids.

2. Eyeshadows: The Warm Neutral Palette 120$. This palette has fifteen warm shades: Hey, Warm Breeze, Gingersnap, Dark Brew, Dance in the Dark, Brule Vanilla Extract, Honey Lust, Amber Lights, Saddle, Lemon Tart, Butterfudge, Creative Copper, Unwind and Divine Decadence. All of the MAC eyeshadows are very pigmented, long lasting and very blendable. Very easy to create multiple daytime to nighttime looks with these warm neutral colours.

3. Pro longwear Concealers: 23$. A lightweight matte fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage. The formula states to last up to 15 hours. It helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles and discolourations. The pro longwear concealers come in a great variety of shades to match up your foundation. If you are unsure of the colour to choose, you can always ask a makeup artist at their counters!

4. Prep and Prime Highlighters: 30$. A pen-style highlighter perfect to brighten the under eye area and to highlight on the chin, cupid’s bow, nose and forehead. They bring a soft sheer wash of colour to the skin. They also come in different shades depending on your colour complexion.

5. Blot Powder Pressed: 30$. This invisible powder provides shine control for people having oily skin like me! It contains mica and silica to absorb excess oils and reduce shine on the skin’s surface. You can apply it after putting on your foundation and this product is perfect product to touch up during the day.

7. Mineralize Blush: 29.50$ / Powder Blush: 25$. Baked minerals refined into a powder formula to provide pigmented and lightweight application. The colour builds lightly without heavy coverage. These are my all-time favourites colours to put on the apples of the cheeks or/and on the side of the cheeks going back to the hairline. They have a lot of other colours and being a cheeky girl, these coulours drives me crazy!

.
8. Cheek Highliters: 35$. Mineralize Skin Finish in a few shades, luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. It adds shimmery highlights on the highest points of your cheeks and can be also used on the bridge of the nose, the cupid’s bow, the chin and the forehead, giving an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face.

9. Lipsticks: 18$. Last but not least… MAC’s famous and adored lipsticks. Who doesn’t know about them? Who doesn’t want to own them? These lipsticks are so pigmented, creamy, long lasting and perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard someone dislike them. Once again, they are so many colours to choose from. Here’s a sneak peek of some of them.
