Hello everyone! It has been ages since I last posted a recipe on my blog and I thought of sharing one with you during the holidays as everyone will have time to try it out 😉 I found this delicious Holidays Nutella Hot Cocoa recipe on Chowhound and I loved it as it is such a fun twist to the traditional hot cocoa. You don’t have to put any hazelnut liqueur if you don’t want to! It is only for those who want to spice up their holiday drink 🙂 Let me know if you give this recipe a try!
.
Ingredients
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons of Nutella
1/2 cup of heavy cream
1/4 cup of hazelnut liqueur
2 tablespoons of Brandy
.
Steps
1. Add the milk, the Nutella and 2 tablespoons of the cream in a small saucepan over medium heat and whisk until the Nutella has completely melted.
2. Reduce the heat to low, add 3 tablespoons of hazelnut liqueur and the brandy, and stir to combine. Heat until hot (do not boil) – then turn off the heat.
3. Add the remaining cream into a medium bowl and whisk until nearly stiff peaks form (about 2 minutes). Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of liqueur and whisk until everything is well mixed.
4. Pour the hot chocolate into serving glasses and top them off with whipped cream.
5. Enjoy!
