Yoga Brunch: A Perfect Sunday

Sara Hudson

Sunday must be my favourite day of the week. To me, it is a day of relaxation, quality time with my family and pampering time. And of course brunch day. You can imagine my excitement when Place Ville Marie approached me to try one of their many activities, which included the Sunday Yoga Brunch, to discover the full range of services and activities offered to everyone in the city!

Taking place on the 46th floor of the Observatoire Ville Marie, the Yoga Brunch includes one full hour of yoga class followed by a brunch at the restaurant Les Enfants Terribles. I invited my sister Florence to join me as I thought she might enjoy the experience.

The yoga class started at 10AM which is not too early for a Sunday morning but I definitely suggest you not to party too hard the night before as the class might be a little more challenging if you do so! We arrived about 20 minutes earlier to snap a few pictures and stories, enjoy the view and settle down. Our yoga teacher Vanessa was really nice and gentle. Our class focussed on breathing, which was great for me being a yoga novice.

As you can imagine, having a yoga class with a panoramic view of Montreal from the 46th floor was a magnificent experience. It was extremely hard for me to close my eyes and to fully relax as I just wanted to enjoy the morning view. After an hour of relaxation, we headed one floor down to Les Enfants Terribles to have brunch. My sister had an omelette with tea while I chose the beet salad with goat cheese and walnut bread, accompanied with a coffee. My only wish was that the brunch menu could be a little bit more extensive as we only had 3 choices with either tea or filter coffee! Nevertheless, we had a lovely time and it definitely was a great way to start off the day.

The Yoga Brunch takes place every Sunday and is open to everyone. Whether you are yoga experts or trying it out for the very first time, you can register yourself and your friends to the class and bring your mat to fully enjoy the experience and the view! I highly recommend it as it brings an already beloved activity to the next level. What is more, l’Observatoire Place Ville Marie also offers Full Moon Yoga. You read it right, yoga classes during the full moon – I will definitely need to add this one in my bucket list!
