Yesterday was Malbec World Day, an event running in more than 70 cities and 54 countries across the globe. This event is celebrated to commemorate the day when the president of Argentina, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, made it his mission to transform the country’s wine industry. For this special occasion, Malbec very kindly offered me a bottle of wine. I decided to honour this day by tasting it with a little assortment of delicatessen, cheese and siders – my favourite way to enjoy a good bottle of wine!
Bodega Norton Barrel Select Malbec is an Argentinian wine aged in French oak barrels. It has aromas of ripe red fruits, cassis and pepper. This wine embodies spicy flavours that complement perfectly meat dishes. I normally tend to choose French, Spanish or Californian wines so having the opportunity to taste this bottle was great to delve into the world of Argentinian wines. If you are looking for a nice bottle to pair with your meat dishes or simply to enjoy an aromatic wine on a sunny afternoon, I recommend you to try the Bodega Norton Barrel Select Malbec!
