La Romana Postcards

Last February, I took a very spontaneous week off with my friend Kayla to escape the crazy winter in Montreal. After spending weeks with a -35°C weather, we have had enough and booked a trip to La Romana, Punta Cana. We normally never book all inclusive travel deals as we both prefer to explore the city and meet locals but after the rough few months we had, we needed a well-deserved and no brainer break.

After flying for 5 hours, we landed in a beautiful, warm and sunny La Romana. The weather was beyond perfect with an average of 28°C! We spent most of our time reading by the pool and walking on the beach (and eating). Taking my mind off work and off social media was necessary and felt extremely good. I was able to completely recharge and to rethink about my priorities that awaited me back home. We also made really good friends, we were surprised to see so many French and Germans! We all needed our daily dose of Vitamin D.

With my incredible traveler’s luck, I had to of course catch a big food poisoning that left me only eating fruits and bread for my last few days. Not only did I come back extremely tan, but also minus a few pounds. This was probably why all my colleagues thought I looked so good and refreshed. Aside from this unfortunate event, we enjoyed our vacation and had so much fun. I am already planning my next trip which will most probably be this summer.
