Healthy Eating with NuPasta

NuPasta6

25 calories in one NuPasta portion! Made with Konjac, these pasta will please everyone looking to control their weight, reduce their cholesterol level, help their digestive system and much more. NuPasta, an Ontario-based company, offers 3 types of pasta to help us live a healthier lifestyle. I was very lucky to receive their Spaghetti, Fettucine and Angel Hair to review! Low in calorie, high in fibre and gluten-free, these are a great and healthy alternative to pasta. What is also amazing is that you can find easy recipes on their website. My cousin Viviane and I decided to do 3 recipes: Chicken Pesto, Italian Rosée and Italian Sausages with Tomato Sauce.

I was very surprised when I first tasted NuPasta products. It is important to note that these are not a replacement for pasta – at least not for me. The texture and the consistency is not the same at all. These remind me more of Vietnamese vermicelli than regular pasta. The consistency is less firm than what I am used to eat and the taste is a bit particular (probably because I am not used to eat gluten-free and Konjac-made products). Nonetheless, these alternatives are very easy to cook with as they are already pre-cooked and you can eat them with your favourite sauce and vegetables 🙂

Have you ever tried these pastas before? What do you think of them?

hiya, i saw on your about page that you’re from montreal and i’m actually going to be visiting for a few days in about a week – was wondering if you have any suggestions or must-see’s for someone’s first time in the city?

Hi! Yes! I really recommend you to go to the Old Port, it is one of the nicest neighbourhood in Montreal. You also should go downtown just to see the big shops and see the heart of our city. If you want to, you can go to the belvedere of the Mont-Royal to see a gorgeous view of the city and you can also skate there! And if you have time, I also recommend Le Plateau Mont-Royal and the Mile-End, they have such gorgeous little shops and coffee shops too 🙂
