All About Clay with L’Oréal Paris

Clay-based products are essentials in my beauty routine. I love how they deep cleanse my skin and hair to leave them fresh, nourished and soft. There are an incredible amount of masks and shampoos offered in the industry and you can imagine my excitement when one of my favourite brands came out with their very own! L’Oréal Paris just released two new collections. Firstly, their high-end face clay masks: the Exfoliate & Refining, the Purify & Mattify and finally the Detox and Brighten. Secondly, the Extraordinary Clay Hair Line.

Extraordinary Clay Hair Care
This new trio designed for normal to oily hair is a new found love for me. My hair is lighter, softer and more flowy! As I curl them quite often and had them bleach for my ombre, these products are the solution to keep my scalp and my roots soft and hydrated.

It includes the Pre-Shampoo Treatment which you apply on your roots and scalp for 5 minutes before shampooing your hair. The clay absorbs all the sebum and impurities to leave the hair light and lifted. The Extraordinary Clay Shampoo gives a sorbet texture and luscious lather to the hair and deeply cleanses to give maximum freshness. Finally, the Extraordinary Clay Conditionner coats the hair to detangle and condition with its rich, ultra-fine and shiny formula.

Do you have a favourite clay mask or shampoo? I am always on the lookout for more products to try!

Clay Treatment Masks
In only 10 minutes, these masks help revitalize, clean and refine the skin. What I really like about these creamy masks is how beautiful they smell. They all have their own fresh fragrance which makes the entire application enjoyable. What is more, they are formulated with 3 clay minerals: Kaolinite, Montmorrillonite and Ghassoul.

Purify & Mattify
This product contains Eucalyptus to purify and mattify the skin. The soothing scent and formula offers a spa-like experience. The pure clay deeply penetrates the skin to remove impurities and unclog pores. If you have oily skin like I do, you will love this mask. My complexion felt so much lighter, brighter and less shiny without being over-dried by the product!

Exfoliate & Refining
This mask is enhanced with Red Algae extract to help exfoliate and refine the skin. It targes rough skin and clogged pores to reveal a smooth and polished complexion. It is an amazing mask if you are looking to remove dead cells, dirt and oil! My skin felt really healthy and glowy after putting on this product.

Detox & Brighten
The final mask is formulated with the power and the benefits of charcoal. It is an amazing mask to detoxify and illuminate the skin. I cannot recommend this mask enough, especially if you want to clean out your pores and get rid of impurities. My skin felt incredibly clean, rebalanced, radiant and velvety.

I bought all three masks but haven’t got to use them yet. It is good to know I made a good choice as I also have oily skin and love clay masks.

Yes you will love them! I have only been using them since I got them out of all my masks in my collection.

Oh they look so nice! Are they expensive? Which one is your favorite?

    • August 12, 2016 / 8:36 am

No not at all! I believe they are 12.95$ in the States and around 19.95$ in Canada if I am not wrong. My favourite is the Detox one, it works so well!

I think I’m going to have to look out for the clay hair mask as my hair gets very dry from all the colouring I do to it.

Clay masks are everything to me ! I feel the same about how efficient clay products are. I think that clay mask is something very different from what L’Oréal used to do and that’s great ! Thank for sharing and still love your blog girl !

You should check out Tarte cosmetics, which are all Amazonian clay based.

I love using clay masks on my face! My favorites are the Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Oil-Absorbing Mask and the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Charcoal Mask. They are both clay-based and do an amazing job of absorbing excess oil without any irritating ingredients 🙂 I also really want to try the Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub.

I didn’t even know that clay haircare products existed, but I have a really oily scalp so I will have to check these out.

Great post! Thanks for sharing 🙂

I haev very fine hair which is prone to oiliness, would you recommend these products? Sometimes I find the “purifying” shampoos too aggressive and drying which in turn makes my hair even oilier… How gentle are these products on the scalp?
